Doncaster Toolkit is the pilot scheme of Live Works, which is a social teaching enterprise by Sheffield School of Architecture (SSoA). The project was developed and produced by Eirini Christofidou, the graduate director of Live Works in collaboration with members of Doncaster Civic Trust (DCT).
In the summer of 2013, DT approached Live Works with the aim to take the prototype Toolkit that was created by the Live Project group and produce 200 copies that would be distributed in all schools across Doncaster. This was the first time that a Live Project not only became a finished product, but also provided employment to an SSoA graduate.
This has been an invaluable learning experience not only as a young architect employed at Live Works, but also for DCT. We guided and helped each other along the way, to transform the Toolkit from a prototype to a complete product.
We hope you enjoy exploring Doncaster through the activities.
